Judging him on his actions, it is no surprise at all that his sentiments do not carry any factual analyses or quest for the exfoliating realms of investigation. But rather, actually had the nerve to drag the nation into his preposterously pitiful realms of feral focus, decrying any focus on the real issues at hand, stating in no uncertain terms that there will be no investigation. Mark Kelly's words verbatim: "When something like this happens it's natural to think; how? Why did this happen? Why were six people killed? Why was a nine your old girl, an innocent child killed...who just wanted to meet her congresswoman. Why was Gabby shot through her head and left barely clinging to life? This is eerily reminiscent of the words uttered by Rahm Emanuel when he said "you never want a serious crisis go to waste" What is unfortunate is that, given the nature of the political landscape in this nation, and how it pertains to various other assassination attempts or successes, the fact is that one has every right to question if Kelly doesn't know something he isn't telling. Is there some larger game afoot? Does he just mean that Obama should be supported in his incessant desire to pass gun-grabbing legislation on the heels of tragedy? Are the citizens of Arizona being manipulated with excessive criminality by administrative incompetence that is attempting to bring tensions against encroaching illegal aliens to a boil so that the xenophobic actions by Israel do not seem so out of bounds? One must never forget that, during the Bush administration, Congress actually considered legislation that would allow Israel to transfer a large majority of its population to Arizona, should their Middle Eastern location become balkanized to the point that the move would appear inexorable. Moreover, it is quite likely that the leaders of Israel would never agree to leave their fortified encampment if the state of Arizona did not offer some form of racial barrier of its own. It is true that there are many violent and unstable factions populating a great many geographical locations in this world. But it is also true that there are plenty of entities and countries that do not engage in the type of violence and aggression that the United States does. It is certainly difficult to take Kelly's speech seriously since never seemed to "get god" back when he was the one doing the killing. But now, after somebody close to him was shot, he's sudden is a religious zealot and pompous prelate, wringing his hands with pious portent as he instructs the nation on extravagant religiosities of arch angels of death and light. All of this fanatical idealism came shortly after he admitted that he "... hadn't been a big believe in fate until recently. I thought the world just spins and the clock just ticks; and things just happen for no particular reason." So, this man actually believes that he has learned something because his wife got injured in a rampage perpetrated by an unstable individual. One could find many reasons to disagree with Kelly's sentiments. However, for brevities sake (not my strong suit) I will simply state with no uncertain terms of my own, that frustration, sadness, tragedy or gratitude are never substitutes for investigative research, objectivity, logical process or constructive creativity. Kelly also chose to instruct the nation on the subject of a group mentality, of which the United States Constitution expressly does not allow, opining lamely "Our country is facing a lot of challenges, and the way we address those challenges is through teamwork." Wrong Mr. Kelly, this nation is a nation of individuals, and any one of those individuals who at any moment decides that he or she is not going to follow the group, or join the "team", that person has every right to do so. Wrong again Mr. Kelly; very, very wrong. Kelly actually has the nerve to completely deny that there are literally millions of extremely honorable people on this planet, whom have honed that honor to an art by exemplifying their humanity with one distinct and courageous sentiment of accountability; they refuse to believe in, or rely upon, a god, and thus are dedicated to the human condition in every way imaginable.
