The only problem with Charlie Sheen going on the radio and ranting against his bosses at CBS is that Sheen appears to be the Goliath in this instance - or at lest portrays himself as such - and most anyone can find it difficult to sympathize with an influential or popular figure who uses this power to sling slang and malevolent mud at people.
It is likely, also, that a significant number of people would consider Lorre to be the David in the contest, and thus, a majority may find it increasingly difficult to reconcile with this imagery, regardless of how fond they are of Sheen.

Sheen also referenced his star appeal and acting prowess by asking "are they happy with the $5 billion they already made off me, or do they think they can turn it into $10 [billion] in a couple more seasons? I'm just saying, you know [the show] is a runaway freakin' juggernaut." Adding "watch your ratings, dudes. Watch your stupid ratings." obviously convinced the show cannot survive without him.
Sheen could have selected his words much more carefully and, if necessary, put Lorre in a light that still allowed both parties to continue the relationship in a more amicable fashion. However, Sheen chose to simply belittle the man and make the issue a personal attack rather than a debate based on the facts.
What I find disturbing is that Alex Jones actually sided with Sheen and tolerated this below the belt, vendetta-style attack on Lorre without even saying a word.
Truly, if anyone should know better, it would be Jones. AJ has built a career on walking the fine line of "conspiracy theories" by always refraining from putting his opponents on the slippery slope of opinion. But rather, confining his attacks to the facts and the documented evidence, and thus calling into question their integrity by showing a commanding presence full of what has become a demonstrative character of personal honor in his many fine shows.
Sadly enough, however, it appeared to this author, back in 2008, that Jones began to emulate less of his roots, as he became full with branches, and certainly alienated one staunch supporter, while simultaneously driving away a customer by showing a bias against the free speech that was the foundation and structure of his message.
It is difficult to say, but it seems that Jones has moved further from objectivity as he has grown closer to his objects. This is certainly a common occurrence, but no less disappointing. Especially given the fact that circumstances warrant that Jones clearly rise above the fray, because his field is such that - should he falter - he could become entirely ineffective as the champion of controversial, investigative journalism he is renowned for.
As far as Sheen, I certainly hope that he takes into consideration that his fans are what really matter. And any concerns he has for his own personal animosities can certainly be aired in a more equitable way that would not draw the audience into the discord.
