Barack Obama, now on a Gulf Coast tour, will be traveling to Louisiana, Alabama, then over-nighting in Florida, and back tomorrow to give an Oval Office address on the Deep Horizon situation.

His latest agenda is an effort to appear as a “hands on” president, and possibly fend off what is soon to become a political nightmare for his entire party.

However, this paltry stab at assertiveness, or leadership, is far too little, far too late.

What is astonishing is that the main stream media, on MSNBC.com’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, is likening Obama’s renewed engagement of the BP Deep Horizon fiasco to the Iran Hostage crisis that Jimmy Carter was up against during his presidency.

Mitchell say’s “some have suggested that there’s an analogy with Jimmy Carter, that (Obama) doesn’t want to be held hostage as Jimmy Carter was with the Iran Hostage Crisis situation back in 1979-80.”

The bombastic reference to a hostage crisis is even low for this administration, which is populated by the likes of Democratic Congressman Bob Etheridge, who physically assaulted a couple of college students simply for asking him if he supports Obama’s political agenda.

Unlike the Iran Hostage incident, Obama has at his disposal a plethora of choices that Carter did not. Carter literally had the lives of political prisoners hanging in the balance while being forced to negotiate with their captors who were both religious extremists and self professed terrorists.

Almost two months ago now, all Obama needed to do was accept the offered assistance of the Dutch, who were at the ready with ships capable of skimming nearly every drop of the oil pouring into the gulf; amass a team of experts and specialists to clearly define the crisis and divide it into shifts that could be brainstorming day and night; make a statement of clear intent and sober analysis to the American people; suspend the calcifying red tape from the bureaucracies that have severely hampered almost every private response effort, and allow the cleanup supplies and permits to flow more readily.

Hell, all he really had to do was show that there is actually a heart and a brain behind that aloof and lethargic personality far too much of the nation has been hypnotized by. Maybe he could prove that he actually gives a damn about more than just his next “partay!!!”

But no, most of his energies have been spent hob-nobbing with celebrities, eating lavish state dinners, joining foreign diplomats in bashing law abiding Americans, attending rock concerts, politicking for his freedom trampling and unconstitutional health care overhaul that most of the nation is still rejecting, and lets not forget…looking for a little “ass to kick.”

Correspondent Chris Cilizza, using the long tired “full court press” analogy -- that Obama has single handedly turned into an offensive term -- say’s “they want to show that he is on the ground as well as doing everything to coordinate the effort…Obama wants to avoid seeming too aloof, sitting in the White House while all this goes on…so they’ve got him down there on the ground meeting with folks, showing that he is in charge…”

Mitchell also suggests that “one other comparison could be an energy policy, we might here something tomorrow night about an energy policy out of the White House?” Eliciting an affirmative response from Cilizza. Further expounding “My guess is that they are going to try and pivot and use this as a chance to say this is an example of why we can’t be dependent on oil, that it is too unsafe, that going a mile under the water to find oil is just not the right solution long term.”

And of course most conservatives and Republicans would agree with Cilizza’s position.

However, it has been the policies forced on the oil industry by radical Democrats and extremist environmentalists which have pushed oil exploration and extraction into such dangerous depths.

There have been countless oil drilling crises in shallow waters that have never even made the nightly news because they are typically much easier to fix and there are seldom any significant dangers or damage to surrounding environments and industries.

Oil extraction can be an indelibly safe practice much like that of nuclear energy production, and it is typically when there are undo pressures placed on the petroleum industry that accidents happen.

What is so different about nuclear energy production is the fact that regardless of who might want to attack that form of business, generally nobody in there right mind is going to do anything to push the industry into actions that would destabilize its ability to operate safely, since the ramifications of even a small nuclear contamination release is infinitely more dangerous than hundreds of millions of barrels of crude oil.

Truly, this is Obama’s dream catastrophe, and he is playing it to the hilt. He knows full well that this crisis is like a trump card in the economic game, and there appears to be no doubt that he will be using it at the most opportune moment.

Obama is strategically allowing this crisis to evolve to a level of terminal velocity where millions of people are to the breaking point as regards the damage they are experiencing, or are expected to experience. And he will use the people’s angst to the full extent that he can when seeking to force through historic energy policies and legislation.

Obama will be exploiting this catastrophe, and using it to attempt to convince the public that the nation must be quickly redirected on a course of renewable energy in order to avoid dire consequences, while simultaneously neglecting to mention that these consequences were avoidable, and that rash action will further destabilize the nation and its markets while forcing businesses into default and citizens into poverty.

The problem with Obama's course is that it follows the identical trajectory of almost every radical thing he has sought to implement so far, and any new "sweeping" and reckless overhaul proposed will prove to be just one more seductively veiled and illegitimate alternative -- to an alleged imminently destructive crisis -- that would otherwise be rejected due to its injurious nature to the economy and the many markets that have been forced into compliance with excessive government mandates that initially pushed the crisis into existence.

This is reflective of the current economic crises that Obama has severely exacerbated with his inept and ineffective reforms and stimulus packages.

As this current Deep Horizon debacle moves into its second month, it appears that the Obama administration and his Democrat cronies are going to use any and all deceptions at their disposal to excuse away their ineptitude, regardless of how ridiculous they sound.

The Obamatrocity is certainly well on its way to setting all time records for audacity and deceit.
