The Divided States of America

The Arizona immigration law is not a racial profiling mechanism and is not truly an immigration issue. It is a legal one that targets illegal, undocumented aliens who are invading this country, and Arizona has every reason and right to pass SB1070, which merely intends to empower the state and local authorities to enforce the laws that the federal government is refusing to.

Furthermore, many people, who have a personal interest in the matter, have blown it completely out of proportion, and are further claiming that this is an economic issue. However, only in terms of the fact that Arizona can no longer afford to support illegal aliens in their state, as they attempt to deal with a $3.5 billion budget deficit.

That California and other states are engaging in seditious acts of veritable treason and hatemongering by boycotting Arizona, is not only deplorable, it is illegal and the City Counsels for Los Angeles and San Francisco should be held accountable for inciting riotous behavior and outright attacking the private citizenry of Arizona, and its businesses, with actions meant to infringe upon areas where they have absolutely no jurisdiction. This is by far one of the most ridiculous abuses of power in recent years.

For any foreign individual or group - which by the way has many times professed animosities toward the United States - to be now calling for a revolution on this nation's soveriegn soil, is nothing short of an act of war, and it is likely that the rebellious behavior of much of the Hispanic and Latino community will soon be collectively targeted by what is becoming a less than hospitable American public.

What is most disgusting in the entire matter is the fact that the majority of those who attempt to attack "Americans" as a way to further their nefarious agenda, almost always are refering to "white" people, regardless of the very important reality that this is a multicultural, multiracial melting pot of freedom loving individuals who are first and foremost required to respect the rule of law in this nation. And to realize that this is not a democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic, and the courts are what give the power to the people...through the actions of a legally bound consensus which is duly sworn to uphold and defend the sovereignty of the American individual. There is no room for "group mentality" or any of its many faces of bigotry and oppression.

The millions of illegal aliens who have invaded this country should never have been allowed to enter without first stating clearly their intention to assimilate into the society in every way, and to harbor no reservations whatsoever against the supreme law of the land.

Before the issue of this veritable invasion can be engaged, the borders must first be secured. It is no secret that "drug trains" are crossing the Mexico-U.S. border on a daily basis. And according to many accounts of testimony in court documents, ranchers within 80 miles of this border are witnessing 300 to 1,200 illegal aliens crossing their property daily, stealing automobiles, vandalizing property, cuttin down fences and leaving refuse behind.

One rancher testified that he has found 17 dead bodies in the last two years, and even more disturbing, several copies of the Quran.

It is common knowledgen in many bureaucratic circles, that drug cartels and terrorist organizations are using Mexico as a staging area from which to invade this nation.

With all of this information clearly coming into the light of day, amnesty cannot be a blanket action, meant only to appease bleeding heart "limousine" liberals or bow to personal angst. All illegal aliens must be first required to pass various tests and undergo background checks. Furthermore, they must be indoctrinated with the critical knowledge of the letter of law and intent outlined by the United States Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence.

There are far too many responsibilities, critical to preserving individual life and liberty, already being ignored by the citizens of this nation. To futher debase the founding principles and auspicous heritage of this, the greatest country on Earth, by diluting its intentions of honoring above all the sovereign individual, is not only irresponsible, it is an unsustainable course that is in complete contrast to the logical trajectory these United States' founding documents were meant to guarantee.

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened. All of us ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated, but this is not the case.

I know the proponents of this law say that the majority approves of this law, but the majority is not always right. Would women or non-whites have the vote if we listen to the majority of the day, would the non-whites have equal rights (and equal access to churches, housing, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, schools, colleges and yes water fountains) if we listen to the majority of the day? We all know the answer, a resounding, NO!

Today we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics and do what is right, not what is just popular with the majority. Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.

Thank you for your response Benito. However, you appear to be seeing this from a personal viewpoint or from a position born of angst at being denied, either you or those you may care about.

First of all, this nation was not founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. You are misguided. This nation was founded by a specifically intuitive and exrtemely cultered group of people who realized that holding the individual in the highest regard is a primary and inalienable requirement of a free and prosperous nation.

What is exculpatory to this analogy is the fact that most any other people coming to America consistently recognize this and typically see American as "white". Unfortunately this has devolved to an environment where many other peoples have used this nation to abuse people, and thus given the American "white" connotation a bad name.

Furthermore, most any other race exhibits behavior which proves that they are racially motivated and they incessantly group together in racial unity, rather than human commonality.

I have found throughout my travels that white people are the least racist, but instead have proved socioeconomic bigotry to be the instigator of abuses of minorities...of any color (including white Hungarians, Poles, Irish, etc). But almost every Hispanic, Black or Asian person I have ever met is extremely racist and appears to have no problem proving it in a myriad ways. Do I find it disconcerting and deplorable, you can bet your bottom dollar. I also see it for what it truly is...HYPOCRISY!

This latest move by Arizona is not a question of majority, it is a question of legality. Regardless of what the majority may desire, the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights are the guideposts for this nation.

These founding documents have not always been followed, and to the detriment of all citizens. However, this is no reason to demand that they continue to not be followed.

Any claim, or fear, that following the supreme law of this land will result in people being harmed, or will not exfoliate properly the will of common good, is unfounded. Furthermore, no person in this nation, either privately motivated or publicly elected, who claims allegiance to its principles and founding documents, has the right to detour from the course set about by the constitution.

For far too long, various organizations and political parties in this nation have been proposing that the United States Constitution is outdated and irrelevant to the directives necessary for contemporary America, and they have been proven time and again to be severely misguided, and have created far too much destructive legislation which is responsible for many crises in this nation, including the current immigration debacle.

Simply because some person, or many persons, may be in a dire situation, or in want of refuge, is no reason to ever diverge from the necessary framework which demands that any person immigrating to a country where they intend to live and work, show clear intent to completely assimilate into that country's society...or leave.

One's inability to tolerate the trials and tribulations of this reality are not somehow special and there is no reason to treat them any different. Hard days are experienced by everyone, and those who realize that, and thus do not expect special treatment, are stronger and wiser for it. These are the kinds of people who should immigrate to this magnificent country. Immigration is not a right, regardless of what you personally feel concerning the situation.

Far too many people have come to America from Mexico seeking only financial gain or an easy target to direct their criminal behaviors at. And the statistics which prove this are irrefutable, as are the victims who are demanding that something be done to protect this nation's borders.

Just because there have been abuses in the past, is no reason to pretend that the policy of demanding accountability from people is what caused it.

As far as the good will you speak of, there is a dearth of it coming out of the drug trains and illegal alien population invading this country. Anyone who ignores this only proves their self to be a bigot...period.

As an American who's family founded this country, and who's great, great, great, great...grandfather signed the Declaration of Independence, I am in a particularly unique position to speak in a very personal way of this nations auspicious heritage, and I stand by every word.

Once again, thank you for your heartfelt comment. If you are in this country legally, and stand up for and defend its founding documents, then I welcome you emphatically as a brother in freedom.
