In a videotaped House Armed Services Committee meeting Congressman Hank Johnson, from Dekalb county Georgia -- in response to Pentagon proposals seeking an increase of US troop movements to Guam -- said “This is an island that at its widest level is, what…twelve miles from shore to shore?”

A military panel member then replied “Uh, I don’t have the exact dimensions, but to your point, sir, I think Guam is a small island.”

Johnson then continued his point by stating verbatim “My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.”

The panel member, with some effort, then replies respectfully “Uh, we don’t anticipate that…”

Willie Geist, host of the MSNBC show Way Too Early, states "this could not have been an April fool's joke since the hearing was a week prior to April 1."

It seems the government watchdogs let one of their half-wits out of the cellar again.

On the WTE show, Geist presents a written explanation from the Congressman which appears to have been the work of Johnson's PR advisors. It read “I wasn’t suggesting that the island of Guam would literally tip over. I was using a metaphor to say that the addition of 8,000 Marines and their dependants -- an additional 80,000 people, construction to the port on the tiny island with a population of 180,000 -- could be a tipping point which would adversely affect the island’s fragile ecosystem and overburden its already overstressed infrastructure. Having traveled to Guam last year I saw first hand how this beautiful -- but fragile island (sic) -- is already overburdened and I was simply voicing my concerns that many people could tip the delicate balance and do harm to Guam.”

While Geist doe’s employ respectful language that appears to lend a factor of plausibility to Johnson’s rather dubious statement, thankfully there is also a significant level of incredulity in his tone, illuminating his hypocrisy. This is probably just a tool of self-preservation meant to garner job security. It is possible that openly mocking congressmen might not sit too well with the  bosses at MSNBC.

For this author, the line on this one is very thin, and there are many exceptions to the rule, but I can usually tolerate hypocrisy a little more easily than outright stupidity. Thus Geist is forgiven for his obsequiousness.

However, I sincerely hope nobody in the nation actually believes the entirely deceptive, irrelevant and canned statement now being offered by the Johnson office. But instead are able to disseminate that this is merely a response drafted by a public relations team which is attempting to sheild the government from the fall-out of Johnson's neurotic neutron bomb.

As well, this further exposes the duplicitous canards of a government that is first and foremost concerned with its image, rather than the merits -- or obviously even the mental clarity and stability -- of its members.

There is no possible way Johnson was inferring a concept concerning the metaphor known as the “tipping point” in his statement. In the video he is clearly making hand gestures which prove the fact that as he said the word “capsize” he obviously believed that the island would literally tip over and submerge its surface.

This is just one more indication that the factbat website is fully justified in its assertions that the United States Government is being populated by mere employees, and that it has become a haven for inept and deranged sociopaths who’s one defining talent is that they will do and say anything to get elected.

The average politician these days is leading the American people astray because they will only tell people what they want to hear, or whatever follows the latest trend, rather than hold the nation accountable to the rigors of the United States Constitution which these preposterous sophists actually promise to protect, defend and uphold when they accept appointment to their office.

The reason there are so many obvious deficient’s such as Johnson in the government is because their true intended goal is that of authoritarianism, and they must be seen as persons who are above the law, in order for them to openly implement such a policy.

If they were to actually uphold the constitution as their oath insinuates, then they would be the ones first and foremost bound by the law, and their actions would be that which exude mere accountability to the people, rather than power, or rule, over them.

Furthermore, the illegitimate body of governance in this nation is just as preposterous as those in the Catholic Church who are demanding they are above the law, and immune to the judicial mandates which subpoena statements from those involved in any criminal or civil investigation.

Not to be outdone however, are the ridiculous members of the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee which cleared Phil Jones and the East Anglia University’s Climatic Research Unit of any wrongdoing by submitting statements to the press which clearly seek to white wash the criminality their staff members most certainly engaged in.

What is also rather indicative of the problems in government is that according to a recent study, more than 75 percent of the members elected to federal posts are those who were assistants, secretaries, aides and clerks for the previous legislators. This proves that there is no change in politics simply because the voters have chosen a new candidate to vote for. Regardless of what these candidates may say, they are already predisposed to give the voters more of the same dusty old status quo that is destroying this country with corrosive idioms and preposterous pragmatism.

It has almost certainly become blatantly apparent to even the most comatose of minds that the primary goal of those who avoid transparency in the many offices, agencies, departments and personal lives of the government, is to prevent the public from becoming aware of the fact that the majority of those in positions of accountability are merely criminally corrupt, power hungry despots who are neither deserving of their position, nor competent in their fulfillment of it.

Shame on them all…
