SENSA: Just More Snake-Oil Killing Americans With Dietary Obfuscation
A company being lauded and endorsed by celebrities - what a novel approach - is once again selling a bottle of snake-oil claiming to do for people what they are entirely capable of doing for themselves, but merely refuse to. The product, called Sensa, offers people a sprinkle of what the company calls “tastants” (of all things) and they are to be added to food selections in an effort to trick the body into curbing the natural desire to eat. What is amazing is that these crystals are nothing but maltodextrin (typically containing MSG) which is basically polysaccharides, or better known as sugar, tricalcium phosphate (dairy derivative which can affect the permeability of cells leading to allergies), silica, carmine (an acid produce by scale insects to deter predators), FC&C yellow #5, and natural and artificial flavors. Considering the use of tricalcium phosphate and maltodextrin in their product, the claims that it contains no dairy or MSG are false. Furthermore, the term "natural flavors" is a broad-spectrum diversion which typically avoids listing specific ingredients health conscious consumers will avoid. Such as MSG, sugar, etc. Silica is just sand, or more specifically, quartz. And it is used as an anti-caking agent for the convenience of packaging and selling products that would not appeal to people otherwise, and rightly so because the products they are typically used in are barely edible. Silica is also used in a colloidal form (finely particulated into a liquid at about 10 to 100 parts per million) as a fining agent in various fermented beverages such as wine and beer. It is widely claimed that the particles are all removed with the organic matter they attach to. However, all one needs to do is freeze various alcoholic beverages to get these sediments to reform. Champagne is a classic example. To be clear; people should not be eating quarts crystals since they are essentially what glass is made of. The product Sensa follows the premise that it is one’s addiction to tastes and smells which cause one to overeat and thus the only solution is to satisfy this allegedly uncontrollable urge with chemicals that supposedly satisfy the body without increasing calorie intake. Unfortunately this worsens the problem by selling people a product that legitimizes merely ignoring the real instigator of obesity, which is poor diet. There are a great many reasons why people in this society abuse food, and none of them are addressed or abrogated by this product. Furthermore, this is just one more irresponsible single-dimension cure-all which seeks to take advantage of a national health crisis, essentially exacerbating the obesity epidemic in America. These products are touted and sold by people such as Oprah Winfrey who nerself then spent over 5 million dollars in order to lose weight so that she can keep fleecing the population and selling her snake oil. Except she still cannot lose the weight. Why? Because she is so busy wasting all of her time ripping people off and selling her delusional advice to millions of gullible Americans. She won’t even take the time to do some research, or actually spend some time on her character so that she understands that it is less about self control than it is about just being honest. But then, if she were honest she would not be nearly as rich, pathological, self-centered (regardless of her actions, they are fake and sociopathic), perverted, popular (because she placates people with patronizing mendacity)…or, of course, FAT. These people need to be exposed for exactly what they are. Criminally insane and abusive sociopaths who will lie, cheat, steal and yes, even kill, to get what they want. The fact is that while knowledge is certainly powerful, it is not very profitable, because once people possess the actual knowledge which allows them to help themselves, then they no longer ignorantly come running to these miscreant profiteers for their sadistic advice.
