So just what does it mean for the nation to legalize same-sex marriage, and what are the consequences? Wile many may claim they know, it is likely that few - in this politically-correct and penitent society - are even able to place it in a context complimentary enough to the process of objective analysis for them to then attempt to engage the critically elemental portions of the argument.

The issues are indelibly complex and interminably pervasive. Thus a myriad fiasco’s will ensue in what will prove to be a long and arduous debate. This will certainly put the moral reserves of this nation to the ultimate test.

An article in the Bay Area Reporter quotes an expert witnesses in the court case debating the constitutionality of proposition 8 (the bill banning same-sex marriage in California) as admitting under oath that he wrote in a book that “legalizing same-sex marriage would, in effect, strengthen America.” Which is a remarkable statement considering this was a witness for the defense supporting the bill.

However, regardless of why the witness, professor Kenneth Miller, made the analogy in his book, his is a rather disturbing position for any individual to take, and certainly is a preposterous notion to propose introducing as a legitimate general consensus.

The consistent rise in HIV cases among young homosexual males in the nation should be enough to discourage consigning to such a belief, especially when considering the levels of education and prevention that are readily available to a populous which has been conscious of the disease since the late 1970’s.

In an unrelated article in the Reporter, executive director for San Francisco’s Asian and Pacific Islanders (API) Wellness Center, Lance Toma speaks of recent cuts to funding which have forced API to scale back operations aimed at providing services to homosexuals infected with HIV/AIDS. In an email Toma wrote that the reduction in funding (cut by $350,000 annually) “reflects how Asian and Pacific Islander communities are not being prioritized.” Stating further “HIV infections are rising in our communities and we continue to fall through the cracks.”

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) reported that the largest proportional increase in the number of HIV/AIDS diagnoses from 2001 to 2006 among men who have sex with men in 33 states was among Asian and Pacific Islander ages 13-24. Their numbers more than doubled. However, this does not necessarily reflect the true magnitude of this national Health Care Crisis since states such as California, with high concentrations of homosexuals, was not one of the states included in the study.

What is significant to the equation is that homosexual behaviors are divest of the natural checks and balances which exist among traditional heterosexual relations and thus are at greater risk for creating epidemic levels of many dysfunctional and debilitating social maladies.

Whether these maladies manifest in communicable diseases, perverse tendencies, indiscriminate contact (such as sex in public restrooms) or inordinate conviviality’s, the effects to the overall societal health are the same in that this environment does not respond to the natural expectations of the human mind. The analogy that an alienating and divisive deviant behavior such as homosexuality will strengthen any society is certainly questionable.

Furthermore, much of the actions of homosexual males appears to be more of a knee-jerk reaction to the emancipation and social rise of women in America. Not too far removed are the days when there existed a significant air of animosity toward females in the society, and abrogation of the denial of their right to express themselves has likely met a particular male resistance that is not readily metabolized by a corporeally identifiable thalamus and brain which have been subsisting on full-spectrum-dominance for millennia.

While one could claim that homosexual males appear far too ingratiating toward females for this to be of significant concern, it certainly cannot be overlooked. Moreover, the fact that many homosexual males incessantly endeavor to dress like, act like and even become physically modified to be like females is a classic behavior of obsequiousness in an attempt to compensate for one’s indefensible, and often interminable, angst.

This analogy is further legitimized by the opposite but similar behaviors of homosexual females of which the majority opt for the “butch” image. This is more of a gender bias exposition than most likely realize, and certainly illuminates the identifier of personal animosity which exists among many homosexuals who, at the same time, contend that they were “born gay.”

The propensities for mental illness created within the environment of contemporary America, and its near past, so full of human rights abuses, are significant to say the least. Multi-faceted is a word that keeps coming to mind.

While many of these modern maladies of social neurosis may merely be manifestations of sympathetic dissociation, there is a co-committal “denial of the self” elicited in this realm which is not without its drawbacks. It is widely known in the law enforcement community that "crimes of passion" among homosexuals are demonstrably more visceral and brutal than are those among heterosexuals. Furthermore, this trend is likely to burgeon among matrimonially empowered, but typically just institutionalized, gay communities.

An increase in fratricide can be seen to correlate with the increase of matrimonial unions expected to weather the growing storm of salacious exploits now so common in America. In conjunction with this analysis is the proliferation of school massacres perpetrated by fellow students who all appear to be incorporating essentially the same common denominator; a disconnection from reality, as well as the current atmosphere of intolerance which demands one cannot voice their disapproval of others for fear of being labeled anti-Semitic, racist, homo-phobe or the proverbial "boat rocker."

This is why so many of the most heinous and confounding crimes of massacre and passion are being perpetrated by that "quiet guy" nobody ever suspected. Never-the-less, the illegitimate abuse of those who have the courage to misbehave and speak their mind as example for, and defender of, those who do not, or merely feel they do not, have a voice of their own, continues...but I digress.

Regardless of the nature of the dissociation, and its expectant fantasies meant to appease the longing for escape so many in today’s society reach for, reality will always pierce this turbidity with remorseless indifference and none are protected from its exemplary indemnifications of the nature of this Universe.

This is a Universe ruled by trillions upon trillions of dichotomies which are each and every one of them interminably complimentary…save one; the duality of “true” and “false” which are always opposing forces - destructive to one another - and never the twain shall meet.

Demanding legalized same-sex marriage is likened to hobbling a horse in order to prevent its escape. While the equine beast may be there in the morning, the act of having neglected to simply employ the use of a bridal and reigns means that now many of the tools which are critical for development of the intended goal, must be left behind.

Expecting to mitigate the consternation elicited from tenaciously honorable and moral people - by the sight of openly homosexual behaviors and advances - with nothing more than demands that the society on a whole deny their natural aversion to perversion, with displays of predilection, only further exacerbates the crisis.
