"Massachusetts, it will happen": Pelosi-Reid Plan To Silence The People's Voice

In an article by Dick Morris citing highly informed sources on Capitol Hill, he exposes the secret plan concocted by Pelosi and Reid to sneak Obamacare under the legislative door being quickly slammed shut by the American voters.

Sources inside the White House revealed Nancy Pelosi is quoted as saying "Rgardless of Massachusetts, it will happen." Furthermore, Democrats are continuing to work to reconcile the house and Senate Obamacare bills and are proceeding to force through a process called "budget reconciliation" where they need only 51 votes to pass the bill not 60.

There is a basic framework which has been agreed upon by President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, where they will pass the bill by circumventing the democratic process of a filibuster by claiming modifications of the bill fall under budget “reconciliation”, and thus does not require the 60 votes.

As stated in the Morris article: Essentially senate Democrats will go to the House with a two-part deal.

First, the House will pass the Senate’s Obamacare bill that passed the Senate in December. The House leadership will vote on the Senate bill, and Pelosi will allow no amendments or modifications to the Senate bill.

However, for the deal to go through it will need to quiet the liberals in her majority who are against the bill because it does not offer a public option, places heavy fines on those who do not have insurance and incorporates no income tax surcharges on the high wage earners that the liberals always love to attack.

This is where the plot begins to thicken.

Reid and Pelosi are once again making back-room deals capitulating to liberal House members, and have agreed in principle to make changes in the bill to satisfy them -- but only after the Senate bill has passed and been signed into law by Obama.

Reid intends to secure the deal with pledges by him and the Senate’s Democratic caucus to make fixes to the Senate bill after it becomes law.

This is just more of the “cart leading the horse” tactics that voters are angry about. These partisan tactics illuminate the “ends justifies the means” mentality of blind pragmatism the entire Obama administration is attempting to operate under. Furthermore, it is a fact that those who stoop to underhanded tactics typically employed by criminals, are themselves criminals. At what level of criminality is typically irrelevant.

If the Obama administration will use such a strategy to pass Health Care reform, placing the American people upon the gallows of big government medicine, then what will they do when it is their neck in the noose?

While it is true that without Republicans such as Scott Brown and independent Democrats such as Joe Lieberman, Reid simply does not have the 60 votes necessary to defeat a filibuster to stop the bill, the Democrats are expecting to invent a strategy by simply employing deception.

According to Morris’s sources, Reid will provide Pelosi a letter signed by 52 Democratic senators citing their intention to pass the major changes that House Democrats are demanding. However, these “fixes’ will only be approved by the Senate after the Senate bill is signed into law by Obama.

Once again promises and dirty tactics by the Obama administration take precedence over diplomacy and legal democratic processes.

Reid is attempting to bypass Senate cloture and filibuster by claiming that these modifications fall under “reconciliation” and thus do not require the 60 vote majority. This partisan strategy means that Reid will not need one Republican vote, nor even Lieberman or undecided Democrats like Jim Webb of Virginia.

Morris mentions that “His 52 pledged senators give him a simple majority to pass any changes they want, which will be rubberstamped by Pelosi’s House and signed by Obama.”

As stated previously in this article, and fully concurring with Morris, this plan by the Obama administration is a total subversion of the legislative process.

Barack Obama is more interested in winning this battle and appearing competent than he is in securing the future of the American people, or in asserting their will.

It is quite obvious the man intends to act as an authoritarian figure that must tell people what the want because as he so clearly intimated in his rebuttal to voters during a speech in April of 2008 where he defends his hotly criticized statements about “bitter voters” by saying “I said something everyone knows is true.”

Obama believes that voters just don’t know what they want, saying, “voters are worried about the economy (duh!)…they don’t expect anyone is going to help them…so they cling to guns, religion, gay marriage or antipathy to people who are not like them, or to anti immigrant sentiment or anti trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations (with the economy).”

“Hey Obama! The American people are not asking anyone to help them. The American people can very well do for themselves, and only require that you do the job they demand you do, and get your fat-cat foot off of their throat!”

What is significant about this newly implemented strategy-of-old rolling out onto the more informed playing field of the nation, is that few will likely just consign themselves to the position that all will come up roses and the administration will honor their word.

It was not so long ago that people got a taste of the felonious actions of this administration's current Secretary of State, Hillary R Clinton, who as first lady attempted to sell the nation her defunct "Hillarycare."

As a senate source to Morris cautions: “Senators more than House members and both more than ordinary people, lie.”

But of course coming off the fresh defeat in Massachusetts, the liberals in the House will likely go along with Pelosi and Reid.

However, this audacious position by the administration is likely to bring a new and larger wave of voter anger which will carry with it a new school of fish to replace the old sharks that now populate the government.
