House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, the self professed third most powerful person in the world (largely by default, some would say), has claimed in an interview, on The View, that she has not chosen to impeach George W Bush or Dick Cheney because she felt it would divide the nation.

First of all, what part of her position affords her the authority to decide what will or will not divide the nation? (Which by and large is inherently divided by the current democratic mechanisms being employed). Furthermore, where does she get the authority to use this obtruded viewpoint as an excuse to neglect her sworn oath to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States? She has a moral and legal obligation to bring impeachment proceedings against the president and vice president for blatant high crimes and misdemeanors, the first of which is intentionally misleading Congress, resulting in an illegal and illegitimate war in Iraq. However, with illegal wire tapping, the murder of over 1.2 million Iraqi's and claiming to be above the law, the list of impeachable offenses has become long and ominous.

The problem is that Pelosi is not quite as forthcoming as America likely hopes. She openly stated that she is seeking some long term goals, and impeachment, no matter how necessary, is not in her playbook. It is quite obvious that she seeks to implement or increase unconstitutional mandates and controls over the economy, health care, education and many other areas. She almost begins to salivate as she nonchalantly explains her authoritarian mindset and desire to infiltrate, and further control, the daily lives of all  American’s, and Bush’s tyrannical agendas play right into her hand. He does the dirty work and she comes behind with the new socialistic, authoritarian “solution”, based on precedent set by the Bush administration.

All Pelosi is concerned with is the next presidential election, and doing anything necessary to ensure Democrats gain the upper hand in this new obese, and power hungry political atmosphere. She has stated flatly that she feels this president “is a total failure. He is not leader. He has no judgment, he has no knowledge, he has no plan”. This statement alone illuminates her gross negligence, ruthless partisan politics and corrosive ideology, as she once again claims no desire for impeachment. The most defining core principle enforced by the impeachment process is removal of a president for demonstrations of incompetence. By her own statements, Pelosi has labeled Bush incompetent.

Nancy Pelosi is not a leader, and largely seeks to push her own personal agendas rather than perform the duties mandated and desired by the American people, who by the way, make much better decisions concerning their personal lives, and generally need no assistance from the federal government. Pelosi’s job requires that she protect and defend the constitution, and America’s freedom, liberty and inalienable rights which George Bush is defiantly attempting to destroy…and she is failing miserably.
